Dear Village Citizens,

To prepare for the upcoming winter storm, wind and snow event, residents are encouraged to move all vehicles from the roadway Tuesday, March 14, 2017, from 12:01 a.m. until further notice. Parked cars are an obstacle for the snow plows and cause excessive snow and ice to be left on the roadways. Code-enforcement will not be issuing tickets for vehicles parked on lawns until after the snow has cleared.

Also, for everyone’s safety and to help avoid an accident, please stay back, at least, two hundred (200) feet if following a snow plow. Snow plows make frequent stops and are often required to back-up on roadways.

When shoveling snow from driveways, please shovel the excess onto lawns and not onto the street. Shoveling excess snow onto the street can create dangerous and slippery conditions for both motorists and pedestrians.

Be sure to charge cell phones and have a backup plan to go to a friend/family member's home or a warming station in case of a lack of electricity and/or heat.  If your power goes out, please call PSEGLI  at 1-800-490-0075 or if possible, report outages on the PSEGLI website

We ask that citizens stay home if at all possible during the storm.  In the case of an emergency, please contact 911.

Sincerely,

Maura Spery
